Disclaimer

Welcome to MakeMaintain (https://makemaintain.com). Please read this Disclaimer carefully before using our website. By accessing or using this website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. General Information Only

All content on MakeMaintain, including articles, guides, tips, checklists, images, and calculators, is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. Our guides cover home care topics such as cleaning, home improvement, organization, and decor. They are written to help you understand a task and approach it with more confidence, but they are not a substitute for professional advice, inspection, or service.

2. Not Professional Advice

MakeMaintain is a research-based publication. The content is not written or reviewed by a licensed contractor, electrician, plumber, engineer, architect, or other certified tradesperson, unless an article clearly says otherwise. Nothing on this website should be treated as professional, legal, financial, medical, or safety advice. Your local building codes, regulations, product warranties, and the manufacturer’s instructions always take priority over anything you read here.

3. Safety and Use at Your Own Risk

Home maintenance and DIY projects can involve real risks, including injury, property damage, and health hazards. Before starting any project, please keep the following in mind:

Read and follow the instructions and safety warnings on every product, tool, and appliance you use.
Wear suitable protective equipment, such as gloves, eye protection, and a mask, and work in a well-ventilated area.
Never mix cleaning products unless the label says it is safe. Some combinations, such as bleach with ammonia or vinegar, can release harmful fumes.
Test cleaners and treatments on a small, hidden area first, because materials and finishes react differently.
Take extra care when using ladders, working at height, lifting heavy items, or using power tools.
Keep children, pets, and bystanders away from work areas, tools, and chemicals.

Any action you take based on information from this website is strictly at your own risk.

4. When to Call a Professional

Some jobs are not suitable for DIY. We strongly recommend hiring a licensed and insured professional for electrical wiring, gas lines, major plumbing, structural changes, roof repairs, and any situation involving suspected asbestos, lead paint, or large areas of mold. If you are unsure whether you can complete a task safely, stop and ask a qualified professional.

5. Accuracy of Information

We work hard to research our guides using manufacturer information, official documentation, and established home care practices, and we review our content from time to time. However, products, materials, standards, and recommendations change, and homes differ from one another. We make no promise or warranty that the information on this website is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for your situation. Results may vary depending on your home, materials, tools, products, skill level, and local conditions.

6. Calculators and Tools

Our calculators, including the home maintenance, paint coverage, and tile calculators, provide estimates only. They are based on the numbers you enter and on general assumptions, so actual quantities, costs, and results may differ. Please double-check measurements, follow product coverage information, and consider buying a small extra amount of materials. We are not responsible for any shortage, excess, or cost resulting from the use of these tools.

7. Products, Brands, and Services

Some articles may mention products, tools, brands, or services for informational purposes only. A mention is not a guarantee of quality or suitability, and product details such as price, availability, and specifications can change at any time. Please check the manufacturer’s or seller’s official information before buying or using anything.

8. Advertising

We may display advertisements on this website, including ads served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. The ads you see are chosen by the advertising provider, and their appearance on our site does not mean that we recommend, endorse, or are responsible for the advertiser, product, or service. For details about how advertising and cookies work, please read our Privacy Policy.

9. External Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites for reference or convenience. We do not control these websites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices. A link does not mean we endorse the website or everything on it.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MakeMaintain, its owner, editors, and contributors will not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expense of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential, that results from your use of, or inability to use, this website or from relying on any information on it.
