About MakeMaintain

Our Mission

Welcome to MakeMaintain. This site exists for one simple reason: looking after a home should not feel confusing, expensive, or overwhelming. Most of us are not tradespeople. We are just people trying to keep our homes clean, working, and comfortable without making costly mistakes along the way.

MakeMaintain offers simple, research backed guides for everyday home care. Whether you are trying to remove a stubborn stain, fix a small household problem, sort out a cluttered closet, or refresh a room on a modest budget, our goal is to give you clear steps you can follow with confidence. We keep the language plain, the instructions practical, and the advice honest about what a task really involves.

Meet the Founder

muhammad hanzala

MakeMaintain was founded by Muhammad Hanzala, who also serves as its Managing Editor. Every guide on this site passes through his hands, from the first round of research to the final edit.

Hanzala is a home care enthusiast with a genuine interest in how houses work and how to keep them in good shape. He started MakeMaintain because he noticed that a lot of home advice online is either vague, copied from other sites, or written with more confidence than it has earned. He wanted to build something more careful.

Here is what he is not: a licensed contractor, an electrician, a plumber, or a certified tradesperson, and this site will never pretend otherwise. What he brings is a research first habit. He studies official product manuals, manufacturer guidelines, published safety standards, and established home care practices, then turns what he learns into guides that are easy to follow. If you want a knowledgeable, careful researcher who tells you plainly where his expertise ends, you are in the right place.

How We Create Our Guides (Our Research Process)

Trust matters more than speed, so we follow the same process for every guide we publish.

We start with official sources. Before we write about a product, appliance, or material, we study the manufacturer’s specifications, installation notes, care instructions, and official documentation. If a manual says not to use a certain cleaner on a surface, our guide says so too.

We put safety first. Every guide that involves tools, chemicals, ladders, electricity, water, or heavy lifting includes the relevant precautions. We recommend protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and proper ventilation wherever it applies, and we point out common hazards before you start, not after.

We say when to call a professional. Some jobs should not be done at home, and we would rather tell you so than encourage a risky shortcut. Work involving electrical wiring, gas lines, structural changes, major plumbing, roof repairs, or suspected mold and asbestos belongs with licensed professionals. When a task crosses that line, our guides say it clearly and explain what to look for when hiring someone.

We keep guides current. Products change, safety recommendations get updated, and better methods emerge. We review and update existing guides on a regular basis so that the advice you read stays accurate and useful.

Our guides are educational resources. They are not a substitute for professional advice, and your local codes, warranties, and product instructions always come first.

What We Cover

MakeMaintain is built around four core areas of everyday home care.

1. Home Improvement & Repairs

Practical guides for small fixes and routine upkeep that most homeowners and renters can handle safely, such as patching walls, fixing minor leaks in fixtures, or maintaining common household items. We are clear about limits and flag jobs that need a licensed expert.

2. Cleaning & Surface Care

Step by step advice for cleaning and protecting the surfaces and materials in your home, from floors and countertops to fabrics and appliances. We focus on methods that match the manufacturer’s care guidance and avoid damaging what you are trying to clean.

3. Home Organization & Storage

Realistic ways to bring order to closets, kitchens, garages, and small spaces. Our organization guides favor simple systems you can actually maintain over elaborate setups that fall apart in a week.

4. Decor & Functional Styling

Ideas for making your home look good and work well at the same time. We cover budget friendly updates, thoughtful layouts, and practical styling choices that improve everyday living.

Our Commitment to You

We hold ourselves to a straightforward standard. Our content is written to help you, not to pad word counts or push you toward products you do not need. We do not publish advice we have not researched, we do not claim credentials we do not hold, and we correct our mistakes when we find them or when readers point them out.

You will find zero fluff here: just clear, actionable guidance, honest safety notes, and respect for your time and your home. If a guide tells you to stop and call a professional, that is not a gap in the advice. It is part of it.
